Determining which neighborhoods are right for you
Twttter
As you consider which neighborhoods to search in for your new home, I can help you make informed decisions with real-time information. Whether you’re seeking current price-per-square-foot trends or up-to-date school information for your neighborhood of interest, rely on me to share all the data I have at my fingertips. My goal is always to support you in determining which neighborhood is right for you by providing the accurate information you need.

Below are a few tips I like to share with my clients before they settle on a neighborhood (or neighborhoods) of interest:

Consider your lifestyle needs
Picking the perfect home begins with finding the right neighborhood to fit your unique lifestyle. Imagine life in your new neighborhood. What amenities are important to you? Do you want to live near parks and area recreation? Do you want to live near friends, family or work? Do you want easy access to public transportation, certain school districts or entertainment opportunities? The answers to these questions are personal, so it's important to consider how different scenarios might impact you. Once you have determined the answers to these questions, and communicate those to me, finding the right home becomes much easier.

Visit your neighborhood(s) of interest at different times
Whether you’re thinking of buying in the city, the suburbs or the country, I advise your to visit the neighborhood(s) you’re interested in at different times of the day. Doing so will give you a better idea of what it would be like to live there. Since most people aren’t at home during the daytime, it’s important to drive through neighborhoods you’re considering at night when there might be more activity.

Consider the school district, whether you have children or not
Whether you have school-age children or not, it’s important to consider the quality of schools in the neighborhoods you’re interested in, as it will affect your new home’s eventual resale value. I can help you locate information about graduation rates and test scores, as well as determine the location of schools which are within walking distance.

Know the commute
I know how much your commute to work can matter. That's why we'll look to see if your neighborhoods of interest have access to public transportation, and will review the location of stops and stations. If you're going to drive to work, I think it's wise to do a test run during rush hour to find out how long it would take.

Once we've worked together to gather all the information about your choices of target neighborhoods, I'm happy to help you refine your selections so that we can begin the most fun part - your home search!
